This is a beautiful location, I live in Gainesville, about 45 minutes away. When the festival first moved to the park and Mr. Ray Macatee helped manage it with Chief Vasco it was a good sized event. You can go back and see videos of 2011 with all of the vendors, flute players, crafts people and reenactor's. I was one of the vendors selling my flutes and artwork, and always looked forward to the event. It broke my heart when Mr. Ray passed and the event started to loose the steam and impact that it had in the past. Still see a lot of the people that were there at the Cherokee Of Georgia Pow Wow. Check out the 2011 videos and enjoy the festival in it's hey day. Wado Joey Hill

The highest spot in Alabama, Cheaha Mountain, has an elevation of 2407ft. It's pronounced CHEE-HA. In the spring and summer it's so lush and green and vibrant. And in the early fall when the leaves just start to turn, those are my favorite times to visit. The cabins and chalets overlooking the valley have amazing views and are a very nice option.

In 2021 we were doing laundry on our day off from Camp Hosting and a White Water Rafting Guide backed into our F-150 while she was about to do all of the laundry for that rafting business. Long story short, her insurance company (Geico) paid for the repairs to our rear bumper 100%, but you are correct that life on the road is complicated and coordinating repairs is a challenge. There was no car rental company within 100 miles, luckily we were able to borrow a company truck for a few days, or else we would have been stuck 20 miles away from our campground when we had to take the truck in for repairs. As to the Norcold refrigerator, I wish that Outdoors RV had a refrigerator upgrade option to a Dometic 12-volt compressor-only 10 cu ft refrigerator, the size is the exact same space as your 2-way fridge. With your 600 AH LIFEPO4 batteries, there would be no issue running the fridge whatsoever, there is even a button on the front to slow down the compressor at night when the doors aren't being opened. Many RV manufacturers have offered this fridge as standard. Outdoor RV likes to be the last one to offer a new RV appliance as they hate warranty issues as anyone does, but so many RVs are using the new Dometic fridge since 2018 that very few problems have cropped up. I will get off my soapbox, lol. This won't keep me from buying a 28dbs, but I will be campaigning for it for sure. -Dave

Sorry about your truck, but glad to hear we are not the only ones with issues. Hopefully the repaired fridge will work for a long time. If not we may look at the dometic. Happy travels.

Thanks for the video. We have been toying with the Axis for many years while we were property managing a 200-site campground in south central FL for six years. In 2021 we semi-retired from that job as working 24/7 in the covid environment about did us in even though we never got it. Instead, we went back to Camp Hosting in south-central Colorado. After 14 years of Workamping, Camp Hosting, and Property Managing we felt like we could better choose our gigs to our suiting. In 2017, we traded in our large truck camper for a 23' Lance travel trailer, we almost got a small class C. We find that every few years we change the details of how we travel and end up with different needs. Our Lance worked great for those 2 trips to Chicago to see the grandbabies in Spring and Fall or to outrun hurricanes, but we never intended to stay in it year round. The Axis had similar limitations. We almost bought park models at each end and we're going to buy a Class B RV for interseasonal travel, but 2 park models were going to be a huge investment and we intended to change campgrounds to keep things fresh. We viewed most of the same videos on Outdoor RVs as you did, at one time we lived 20 miles north of the Great Sand Dunes NP (2005-2008, Off-grid, passive solar, straw bale) where our friends at Adventurous Way got stuck in the flash flood over the USFS road headed toward Westcliffe. Initially, we were looking at the 24trx toy hauler as one of the Camp Hosting properties had a second campground 6 miles up the canyon that was accessible by ATV or very high clearance 4x4 vehicles ... but the manager of the district retired and my dear Sheila applied for the position and was chosen. Now we are back to working 24/7 supporting 16 hosts and doing a lot of hauling of firewood, TP, PT, and endless cleaning supplies, tools, & weed-eating & doing mucho water sample testing. We are in a commercial campground in order to have high-speed internet to download reservation updates and be close to the banks for deposits, however, private parks feel more like a graveyard to us than all of the USFS campgrounds we clean, support, and do all of our projects, etc. Recently we saw a telecom bringing fiberoptics up the valley so we are hopeful we can get a USFS agreement with them and our concessionaire employer. We are already set up for solar and LIFEPO4 batteries, and we install a 210-gallon portable water tank from a local municipal source we haul twice per month to each host and we have 1,000-gallon vault septic at each host site so we can operate in the canyon at 8,000' where the air is clean and crisp most of the time. We found the Back Country 28dbs model to our liking as it is more full-timer friendly and works great with our winter travels to do eldercare in south central FL. I look forward to seeing your modifications and enhancements to make the 28dbs suit full-timer needs even better. There is an Outdoor RV dealer just 30 miles down the road from us which has worked out great for getting all of our Lance RV parts over the years. For 12 years we traveled with a Beagle and now that she is gone we can stop trying to find a Beagle compatible floorplan, but the 28dbs can accommodate numerous family sizes, lol. In the side rear toy compartment we intend to put our 48-qt 12-volt compressor refrigerator/freezer as we consume a lot of fresh celery juice as part of our morning health rejuvenation program, RV refrigerators don't typically handle all the extra fresh food one needs for such programs, but again the 28dbs seems to have that potential. Our challenge then is to find a decent low mileage 3/4-ton to trade in our 1/2-ton that has served us very well since 2017. Cheers, Dave & Sheila
